A IMPORTÂNCIA DA INFORMAÇÃO E DOS SISTEMAS DE INFORMAÇÃO NA TOMADA DE DECISÃO: O CASO DE UMA PME

Abstract

Numa era onde o desenvolvimento tecnológico é notório e essencial em qualquer setor de atividade e em que a informação é obtida rapidamente e em grande quantidade, torna-se necessário arranjar mecanismos para fazer face às exigências. De modo a facilitar o tratamento e o armazenamento dos inúmeros dados que dispõem, as empresas quase são obrigadas a recorrer aos sistemas de informação para um melhor funcionamento da sua atividade.Por isso, com este relatório, pretendi compreender a importância que esses sistemas de informação podem ter na tomada de decisão e de que forma a informação pode, ou não, ajudar no exercício dessa função, de modo que esta seja feita da forma mais eficiente e informada possível. Para além disso, e usando como exemplo a empresa que me acolheu durante o estágio, tentei ainda perceber se a Anteros emprega estes dois recursos de forma eficiente na sua tomada de decisão.Para a elaboração do relatório fundamentei a minha análise em alguns estudos feitos e publicados anteriormente e nas atividades que fui realizando ao longo do período de estágio. Com o objetivo de perceber a proveniência, a importância e a utilização da informação na Anteros, foi também realizada uma entrevista semiestruturada, à administradora da empresa.Ao longo, tanto do estágio, como da elaboração do relatório, fui-me apercebendo da importância destes sistemas dentro de uma empresa, em que, num mundo cada vez mais desenvolvido tecnologicamente, o tradicional por vezes torna-se escasso para fazer face às exigências. Sendo assim, foi possível concluir que um sistema de informação bem projetado e implementado, permite tratar a informação de forma eficiente, o que por sua vez, possibilita uma tomada de decisão eficaz, evitando o information overload. Com uma tomada de decisão feita nestes moldes, é possível proporcionar vantagens para a empresa em relação aos seus concorrentes, sendo sempre essencial a constante atualização, tanto do software, como do conhecimento dos seus utilizadores, o que também foi confirmado pela administradora na entrevista realizada. Em relação à Anteros, a partir das atividades que realizei e dos dados que foram recolhidos na entrevista, foi possível verificar que os sistemas de informação da empresa exercem quase a cem por cento as funções para que são utilizados. Apesar disso, existem alguns aspetos que podem melhorar a forma como a atividade funciona, aumentando a rapidez com que a informação chega aos decisores e evitando que alguns erros sejam cometidos, simplificando o trabalho dos colaboradores.

In an era where the technological development is notorious and essential in any sector of activity and where information is obtained quickly and in large quantities, it becomes necessary to find the correct mechanisms to meet the demands. In order to facilitate the processing and storage of the large amount of data at their disposal, companies are almost forced to resort to information systems for a better functioning of their activity.Therefore, with this report, I intend to understand the importance that these information systems can have in the decision making and how the information can, or not, help in the exercise of this function, so that it is done in the most efficient and informed way. Furthermore, and using the company that hosted me during the internship as an example, I tried to understand if the Anteros uses the information and the information systems efficiently in their decision-making.For the preparation of the report, I based my analysis on some studies that were done and published previously and on the activities that I carried out during the internship period. To understand the origin, the importance and the use of information at Anteros, a semi-structured interview was also carried out with the company administrator.During both the internship and the preparation of the report, I became aware of the importance of these systems within the company’s activities, in which, in an increasingly technologically developed world, the traditional sometimes becomes scarce to meet the demands. With this, it was possible to conclude that a well-designed and implemented information system allows for the efficient handling of information, which in turn, enables effective decision-making, avoiding the information overload. With a decision made in this way, it is possible to provide advantages for the company over its competitors, always being essential to constantly update both the software and the knowledge of its users, which was also confirmed by the administrator in the interview conducted.Regarding Anteros, based on the activities that I performed, and the data collected in the interview, it was possible to verify that the company's information systems perform almost one hundred per cent of the functions for which they are used. Despite this, there are some aspects that can improve the way the activity works, increasing the speed with which information reaches decision makers and preventing some mistakes from being made, simplifying the work of employees.
