The study of the relationship between work and health involves a correct identification of occupational hazards, as well as its impact, positive or negative, on the workers. For this, it is essential to carry out practical studies focusing on the real context of work, identifying the main sources of these occupational hazards. In workplaces, occupational risks are inherent to the environment or to the operating process of the different activities. These risk reflect the unsafe conditions of work, capable of affecting the health, safety and welfare of the worker. The General Regulations of the Health and Safety at Work in Mines and Quarries -Decree- Law No.162/90ofMay 22, hasabroad applicationto alloccupational variables, sothe variables studied are based on this law, never forgetting the rules and standards applied in each case in particular. Exposure to noise at work is the direct cause of the second most important occupational disease in our country-deafness-resulting still, often in other physiological and psychological disturbances. Exposure to dust and vibrations are also risks of high in importance. The developed work was intended to give a contribution to the analysis of the evolution of occupational hazards andtheir constraintsina production process. The purposewas to check the progress of noise and dust level over several years. Concerning the vibration’s study, the prospect was to perform a preliminary study of mechanical vibrations in the whole- body, because it had never been studied this physical risk at the quarry under study. Measurements were made in three work positions during the period of labour and at several days, to monitor the identified risks. The random days were chosen to cover various types of conditions, like temperature, wind and humidity. The stations monitored were the crusher, the storage (silos) and the sorting belt. As for noise and dust levels, the analyses of data show that the differences between the different years were not significant. It was found that the vibrations at these working positions were greater in the z axes than in the other axes. This work contain references to some aspects of future research needs in order to reduce / eliminate occupational exposure to noise, vibration and dust, and therefore improve the quality of life of workers.pt
