Biography
Francisco Oliveira has a graduation (5 years) in Mathematics from the University of Minho, a Master in Computational Methods and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Porto. He was award with a four years doctoral scholarship from the prestigious Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, in Portugal. After, he was Auxiliary Researcher at Institute for Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health (ICNAS) from University of Coimbra. Then, he moved to the Faculty of Medicine of University of Coimbra, also as Auxiliary Researcher. Currently, he works at Nuclear Medicine clinical service of Champalimaud Foundation, in Portugal, and integrates the Nuclear Medicine-Radiopharmacology research group of the same institution. His main interest areas are medical image processing, analysis and quantification; PET and SPECT imaging; image reconstruction; compartmental analysis based on dynamic imaging; computer-aided diagnosis; statistics and machine learning. He has special interest on neuroimaging and oncology. He has several publications as first author in very prestigious journals, and has been researcher in many research projects funded by national organization.
