Biography
Maria Manuel Borges is an Associate Professor in Information Science at the University of Coimbra and co-coordinator of the Digital Humanities Group at the Centre for 20th Century Interdisciplinary Studies (CEIS20). She is the coordinator of PhD in Information Science at the University of Coimbra. Has extensive experience in supervising PhD and Master theses. She is a member of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics, Association of Digital Humanities (AHDig), and BAD, the Portuguese Association of Librarians and Archivists. Additionally, she is a member of the editorial board of national and international journals and an Associate Editor of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). She is a member of the Interministerial Working Group, sub-group Research Assessment, for the National Open Science initiative. She is also an A3S expert for accreditation of courses in Information Science in Portugal. Besides, she was a member of the Research Data Alliance and the board supported by the University of Coimbra of the node RDA.pt. She collaborated in the Open Data National Strategy with the initiative of INCoDE.2030. She is a member of the Advisory Board of TRIPLE, a project funded by H2020-EU.1.4.1.3. Her current research interests are in scholarly communication, focusing on open access and open science, research evaluation, research data management, and digital preservation/curation.
