Biography
Maria Manuel Borges is an Associate Professor with Habilitation [Agregação] in Information Science at the University of Coimbra. She is President of the Faculty Assembly, Subdirector of the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Information, Coordinator of the Information Science Section, Director of the PhD in Information Science and Director of the Library and Documentation Services of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities of the University of Coimbra. She is a member of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics, the Association of Digital Humanities (AHDig) and BAD - Portuguese Association of Librarians and Archivists. Furthermore, she is a member of the editorial board of national and international journals, of SciELO Portugal, and Associate Editor of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). She is a researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (CEIS20) of the University of Coimbra, Group 7 - Digital Humanities, were also serve as a member of the editorial board. She was a member of the Interministerial Working Group, subgroup Research Evaluation, whose mission was to advise the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education in Portugal on the strategic orientation of the National Open Science initiative. Furthermore, she is an A3S expert for the accreditation of courses in Portugal. In addition, she was a member of the Research Data Alliance and of the board, representing the University of Coimbra, of the RDA.pt node. She collaborated on the National Open Data Strategy with the INCoDE.2030 initiative. She is a member of the Advisory Board of TRIPLE, a project funded by H2020-EU.1.4.1.3. Her research interests are in scholarly communication in the context of open science, with a particular focus on open access, research evaluation and research data management.
